Tips for writing a newsletter.
In our previous news, you were introduced to Mailchimp, our mail program. Would you like to send a powerful newsletter that is really read?
Your customers receive a mountain of e-information every day.
And yet newsletters remain a widely read and, not to mention, very effective means of communication.
Of course, you need to create them with attention to content, structure and layout.
Tip 1: Make your newsletter personal
Make sure your newsletter fits your store and your (potential) customers. Someone who has signed up for your newsletter already feels a certain affinity with your store.
You can emphasize this by addressing your customer personally. Adapt your layout to your target audience. A hip newsletter in flashy pink for a youthful audience, for example.
Tip 2: Be recognizable
Talking about personality and faces: don't hesitate to add photos of customers or employees to your newsletter.
For example, use the same colors for your newsletter as for your website and make sure your logo stands out. With just a little effort, you can make a world of difference.
Tip 3: Add interesting (and original) content
A newsletter - and email marketing in itself - has two purposes. On the one hand you want to keep existing customers informed about your services and products.
On the other hand, you want to attract new customers by informing them and activating them. You do both by using your own content effectively. The idea is that you attract visitors to your website or webshop:
People can share your info on social media and click through to other parts of your website.
Tip 4: Don't be too commercial
A newsletter is the perfect opportunity to introduce your customer to new products and services. Above all, be brief, powerful and clear.
What does always work to provoke reactions? Freebies!
Add a free invitation to your mailing or give your readers a chance to win a free product or service.
Tip 5: Choose the right moment
It is best to choose the right moment to send your newsletter. The right time depends on a number of factors.
Most people open their mailboxes during a lunch break or at the end of the afternoon, when their attention wanders.
Try out different times, measure the results and determine objectively when your newsletter is being read the most.
Tip 6: Comply with the GDPR
Of course, you can't send a newsletter today without taking the GDPR into account.
This means that you can only send your mailing to people who have explicitly given their permission to do so.
